Love of Lesbian excites in the conclusion of their tour and announces a new album

Last Saturday, Love of Lesbian bid farewell to their tour in a packed WiZink arena. The tour, which began as an experiment with a concert at the Palau Sant Jordi during the pandemic, took the band on a journey across Spain to promote their latest album, 'Viaje épico hacia la nada.' And, after three years, that chapter has now concluded.

In reality, the concert is a journey through the group's entire discography, from their iconic anthems to their most recent songs. As Santi Balmes defined it on stage, "it's an epic journey to nothing that, in the end, has become an epic journey to everything." The truth is, their 2.5-hour performance provides a perfect showcase for Love of Lesbian, with songs that get the audience dancing and feeling deeply moved.

The opening set the tone for the rest of the concert, as everyone eagerly sang along to the title track of their latest album. The reception was as enthusiastic as it would be for 'Sesenta memorias perdidas' or 'Cosmos (Antisistema solar),' also from the same album. While they used visuals on three large screens to enhance the performances, what truly stood out was the spectacular reaction of the attendees to these songs, which are far from being their most famous. Everyone enthusiastically sang and danced along.

One of the most special moments with the audience came during 'Noches Irreversibles,' which starts acoustically and builds up with its two drummers. The audience sang the final part of the song, appearing on screen and taking center stage in the performance. Something similar happened during the rendition of 'Algunas plantas,' a much more danceable song that encouraged the crowd to crouch down and jump together during the final chorus.

During their final tour stop at a packed WiZink arena, Love of Lesbian didn't shy away from calling for justice, mentioning the conflict between Israel and Gaza and advocating for an International Tribunal. They also emphasized their outsider status in the music industry and the connection they share with their audience. The most emotional moments came during two encores, with a surprise appearance by Leiva, a heartfelt rendition of 'Incendios de nieve,' and the anthemic 'Allí donde solíamos gritar' closing the concert.

The band, whose journey began in Barcelona, brought their tour to a symbolic end in Madrid. However, their ambition remains unyielding as they announced plans for their next fully recorded album, cheered on by an appreciative audience. In response, they expressed their gratitude, calling their fans a miracle.
